J. Cole "Niggaz Know"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

"Power Trip" eventually grew on me, but to be honest it was more so on the strength of Miguel's hook than anything else. Regardless of how I feel about it, that single is unquestionably a hit... but this right here, is the J. Cole sound I'm more into. Late last night, Cole leaked out his latest Born Sinner track, the self-produced  "Niggaz Know." There isn't much cross over appeal here (like the aforementioned single), but good to see dude put out a track to let "Niggaz Know" he can still rap his ass off. The Born Sinner vs Yeezus vs Watching Movies With The Sound Off showdown goes down June 18th - who do y'all see stealing the day? To coincide with the new Cole track, check out Soul Culture's latest piece in their mental health campaign #OKNotToBeOk series featuring the NC emcee discussing battling depression while crafting his new album.
