Isaiah Rashad Keeps The Streak Going w/ Another Heater

It seems all systems are a go for Isaiah Rashad's sophomore album. That once cryptic "9.02.16" date put out by TDE's Top Dawg is now assigned to the unveiling of Rashad's new piece. Last week he let loose the vibe-heavy single "Free Lunch," and today he keeps the heat-streak alive with another certified banger, "i mean."

Produced by Atlanta's Black Metaphor, the track pairs Rashad with a suite that compliments his dense wordplay and delivery, allowing him to stretch out over throwback soul loops and a hard-knocking drum program. The cut arrives as a welcome warm-up for whatever's ahead, even with the news of a fresh addition to the TDE roster in New Jersey rapper, Retch (though Top Dawg has yet to confirm.) Other TDE signees that appear to be making moves include Lance Skiiiwalker, as well as Ab-Soul and SZA, both due for an album in the second half of 2016. Schoolboy Q's Blank Face LP is working its dark magic on charts as I write. Rashad's album will only add to a landmark year for the west coast camp.
