Two full seasons after we first heard the audio for Iron Solomon and Talib Kweli's collaboration "The Empire"--for my subway tokens, a pretty clear response to Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' "Empire State of Mind"--we get the video version. Have to say it was worth the wait, the time obviously spent on perfecting this lovingly shot vid which balances the expected Brooklyn Bridge and Gray's Papaya type scenery with montage portraits of the extraordinary beings we know as ordinary New Yorkers--including a few that Okayplayers may recognize. Don't want to give 'em all away but they have typically-New York surnames like 'Grae' and 'Monch'. Watch below and cop Iron Solomon's LP Monsteron iTunes now.
