In Appreciation of Lyricism, Saul Williams + Boiler Room Spit Hot Fire [Premiere]
Boiler Room is surely launching off the wild, fuego ideas and events, no? If you missed last month’s session, well, don’t worry — they got you covered with a new jawn featuring the legendary Saul Williams.
Alongside traditional spoken word artists like Ursula Rucker, Klashnekoff, James Messiah and Kojey Radical — the occasion known as In Appreciation of Lyricism was a two-part event with influences derived from Def Poetry Jam As each of these lyricists shared their favorite verses, the second part featured a DJ who provided the backdrop to a big cypher that included these same artists.
Live and in living color from Boiler Room’s “The Yard,” talented artists met up with an interested and engaged audience who together witnessed Saul Williams bring his own brand of word play and theatre to those equally inspired by lyricism.
Without any further ado, please allow us to introduce to you the two-part series from the In Appreciation of Lyricism event. Press play and enjoy the archived footage below.
