It’s no secret that we absolutely adore Ari Lennox over here at Okayplayer. She was included in our ‘17 Artists to Watch in 2017‘ post to start off the new year, and she is just capable of making her own waves. Powerful voice, confident style and a mesmerizing talent, Ari Lennox, for those who don’t know, is signed to J. Cole‘s Dreamville record label.
With two EPs out in the world, one being the phenomenal Pho (play “Backseat” and thank us later) — Ari Lennox proves to be a force to be reckoned with in this game. We’re still vying for a spot to add her into our First Look Friday series, but sooner than later she will be too big for that as her star shines bright.
Sassy, sexy and free — there is much that the public still doesn’t know about Ari Lennox. Sure, you might know she is influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Aaliyah, Erykah Badu and Whitney Houston — but do you know why she got into this business to begin with? No, well, thanks to us here at Okayplayer, we wanted to share with you 10 things you never knew about Ari Lennox.
Make sure to use these if you ever see her and you’re feeling encouraged to strike up a conversation. Enjoy!
