Heems roadside in India with the Soup Boys (Pretty Drones) video

From his solo tour somewhere in Asia, Heems launches the video for “Soup Boys (Pretty Drones)” into this brave new post-Das Racist world we’re all living in now. Consolidating his affiliation with GQ India (sidebar: can that be my new crew name?) who have their branding all over this chumpy, Heems files his dispatches from a series of hotel rooms and McDonalds in New Delhi and points east, looking wild jet-lagged and possibly coked out. In between we get some electrifying (literally) performance shots from an open-air stageshow and some random kids on bikes (The Soup Boys, I presume) on the side of a highway somewhere in South Asia. All of which is to say it’s a more intense immersion into the experience of being Heems than you might have been ready for when you clicked play, but it somehow works perfectly as a counterpoint to his sugar-cones-and-paranoia rhymes over the most viral Tollywood beat in history–watch below, read my post on the audio track here for the Bollywood backstory and get the full Wild Water Kingdom mixtape here.
