GZA To Perform 'Liquid Swords' In Full At Three-Night NYC Residency
At the very end of 2015, GZA's certified classic Liquid Swords became certified platinum nearly 20 years to the day after its initial 1995 release. It's gone on to become the gold standard for rugged and raw, revered by contemporaries and disciples alike. And seeing as how it doesn't appear we'll be getting that Dark Matter LP anytime soon, it seems to be the perfect time to revisit that masterpiece. And what better way to do so than with the genius himself?
For three nights, October 30th, 31st and November 2nd, GZA will treat fans to intimate performances of Liquid Swords, live and direct from City Winery, in both Chicago and NYC. The first two nights are in The Windy City, the last right here in good old NYC. Tickets are on pre-sale for both shows and can be purchased via City Winery today. GZA will also join the whole Wu-Tang Clan this Sunday for the closing ceremonies of Roots Picnic in Bryant Park, where they'll put in work with David Byrne, Nile Rodgers and, of course, The Roots.
