Ghostface Killah Is In Charge Of The Next Wu-Tang Album And That's A Very Good Thing

Ghostface Killah & BADBADNOTGOOD Link w/ MF DOOM For "Ray Gun"

“RZA put the ball in my hand."

Can we be frank for a second? The last two Wu-Tang Clan albums, 2007's 8 Diagrams and 2014's A Better Tomorrow, were absolute disasters. Sure, each of them managed to get the band back together, but something was very much missing from the equation. Namely, quality. But that may all be behind us now because according to a recent interview with Ghostface Killah, RZA put the ball is officially in his court. And that's a very, very good thing.

Prior to 8 Diagrams, both Ghost and RZA were credited as co-executive producers for nearly all of the group's album, which yielded legendary results. Yet for some inexplicable reason, Ghost was left out of that slot when it came to those dreadful latter-year releases. Though he seems a tad intimidated by the undertakingThe good news is that Ghost has all of the appropriate attributes to spearhead a project like this. Just think: the man has proven to be Wu-Tang's best selector of sonic suites (J Dilla, DOOM, Apollo Brown, BADBADNOTGOOD, so on and so forth,) he's got his own enterprise in Wu-Goo to help finance the joint and the muscle to keep Martin Shkreli's greedy little pharma-mits off a potentially classic piece of work.

And let's not forget, your boy's still got all of the bars. Suppose we'll have to wait and see what comes of all of this, but a Wu-Tang album in the hands of Ghostface Killah sounds not just good, but great. Get it done, Tony. We need this.
