Actor and activist Gbenga Akinnagbe recently joined the UK's own Blackmale Beats for a chat about the philosophy behind the movement that is the Liberated People clothing line. Gbenga talks not only about the clothing produced by Liberated People but the brand's goal to provide support for everyone around the world struggling for liberation - an issue that affects people of all genders, ethnicities, cultures and colors. He cites his travels and his upbringing as a primary source of inspiration for the launch of the movement. He also drops a definition of "liberation" that decries stigma and inaction.

The discussion presented with the help of Castle 80 is the first fruit of an international creative collaboration between the brands and a continuation of BB's mission to put out "positive affirmations in soul music form." In this case that means that fans of Liberated People and Blackmale Beats get an extra special treat with the arrival of the "Liberation Day" instrumental - a super funky track that packs a triumphant rhythm and plenty of swing.
