Video: Gary Clark, Jr. Breaks Down "You Saved Me" & "Things Are Changing"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

"I wanted to just go to outer space" says Gary Clark, Jr of his track "You Saved Me," breaking down not one but two unheard songs (see also, "Things Are Changing" after the jump) from his forthcoming LP Blak & Blu (unheard unless you caught the full album stream we posted the other day, that is). GCJ goes a little deeper with the back-story of "Saved Me," relating that he wanted to "see how far I could take it" both with his own guitar work and studio wizardy, telling producer Mike Elizondo: "I want spaceships and shooting stars." Watch both and pre-order Blak & Blu on iTunes now (drops next Monday, October 22nd.)
