Flying Lotus Isn't So Jazzed About The YouTube Music Awards...Neither Is Tyler
Flying Lotus took to Twitter to vent his frustrations with the upcoming YouTube Music Awards. The brand new event could have ventured to raise the bar by breaking the increasingly stale awards show format to recognize the most innovative and least visible artists making magic happen behind the scenes and often well below the pop culture radar. The program, according to FlyLo, instead mirrors the MTV Video Music Awards - a move he considers weak on the part of the show's organizers who could have ventured to step outside of the box to break the standard issue approach to directing awards show broadcasts, nominations and the selection of honorees. Tyler, The Creator echoed Flying Lotus' sentiments on Twitter - an interesting development considering the fact that Tyler is included in the lineup of performers slated to play the upcoming broadcast. Take a look at their reactions below to read the choice words each of them had for the YTMA's. Stay tuned for more ahead of the YouTube Music Awards, going down on November 3rd.
