Ever since Flying Lotus leaked the art & tracklisting to his forthcoming LP Until The Quiet Comes with longtime FlyLo-supporter Erykah Badu listed as a guest feature on track 11 "See Thru To U," speculation about the collaboration has been nothing short of feverish. Well hide yer thermometers because the homie J Rocc has blessed us, the world, with a first listen to the cut, via Benji B's show on BBC Radio 1. Stream below and jump to the 1:35 mark to hear the much-anticipated song, which to my ears sounds something like Badu's remixes from Carl Craig times a Little Dragon jam + a lot more crazy drums going on. Which is to say, everything I hoped for in a Badu/FlyLo joint. Of course, the track sadly cuts off after a minute-long teaser--but on the other hand what we're left with is another 8 minutes of J Rocc DJing on Radio 1, which is definitely not the worst thing that could happen to you. In fact, the track that comes right in after Badu's voice cuts out sounds like J Rocc's own refix of J Dilla's "F*ck The Police," which nicely encapsulates my reaction to the preview: "We don't say damn / We just say WHOOOOOAHH."
