UPDATE : We should have known that Flying Lotus' upcoming You're Dead LP wasn't going be no seven-song nothing, no matter how many iconic features were packed in. Today FLyLo unveiled the second half of the tracklist for his Until The Quiet Comes follow-up, tapping the likes of his right-hand bass man Thundercat, Niki Randa, Angel Deradoorian and another feature from his alter-persona Captain Murphy. Flying Lotus went on a bit of a spree last night as he announced the tracklisting of his upcoming You're Dead! LP via a series of graphic anime illustrations posted to his Tumblr. Along with the track names and a visual cue for the LP, Flylo revealed a short list of icons that he has had the pleasure of collaborating with on his next release, including jazz legend Herbie Hancock, King Kendrick Lamar, the Doggfather Snoop Dogg and their will apparently be an appearance from his alter-ego Captain Murphy.
You read that right, old FlyLo is tapping a truly iconic list of collaborators for his forthcoming follow-up to the critically and personally adored Until The Quiet Comes LP and his recent stint scoring the Kahlil Joseph-directed and K dot- commissioned short film m.A.A.d, which premiered just last week at Sundance's Next Fest. These are eventful times in the FlyLo world and things are just getting more exciting with his US tour on deck and the album dropping October 7th via Warp.
