FELA! The Musical Live Broadcast (1/13)

For the last year or two we’ve spoken ad nauseam about the exhilarating and provocative production that is FELA! the musical. Unfortunately, those of you who are not in NY (or London) weren’t able to see this first hand… until now. It’s near impossible to duplicate the live interactive experience that is FELA!, but this is the next best thing. On January 13th, National Theatre Live will be broadcasting the show live in HD to cinemas around the world. “A provocative and wholly unique hybrid of dance, theatre and music, FELA! explores the world of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Using his pioneering music (a blend of jazz, funk and African rhythm and harmonies), FELA! reveals Kuti’s controversial life as an artist and political activist. Featuring many of Fela Kuti’s most captivating songs and Bill T. Jones’ visionary staging, FELA! comes via Broadway to London and the National Theatre.” Head over to NTL to find a theatre near you showing FELA! (tix on sale now).
