Saturday night was live AF on-and-offline as Drake fulfilled his promise of premiering More Life to the masses.
Alongside his OVO co-founder Oliver El-Khatib, the duo ran the chunky 22-track effort in a stream on Episode 39 of OVO Sound Radio. For those not keeping score, Drake has been working on his “playlist” since October of last year. Snippets of unreleased songs have appeared online, while Drake himself has fed the flames by playing cuts at after parties and during his “Boy Meets World” tour.
Trending over the death of a music legend, More Life is out and the streets are certainly talking about it in spades. The 6ix God’s seventh solo LP has galvanized those in the music industry who have an opinion, who want to make jokes and who just want to get in on the discussion. As mentioned, More Life is 22 songs, which features appearances from Young Thug, Kanye West, Quavo, 2 Chainz, Travis Scott and a big major placement for our favorite singer, Jorja Smith. His soundbwoi burial wouldn’t be complete if he didn’t show love to his UK mates, Giggs and Skepta.
As we have done with other first-take listens before, More Life will be fueled by gut reactions, streams of consciousness with no pausing, rewinding or editing of any kind for the project. Without further ado, here is our look at Drake’s More Life and if you want to stream the project, click here.
