Dr. Dre Shares The Brash New Single "Naked" ft. Marsha Ambrosius & Sly Piper

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Ever since taking the helm at his Apple Music Beats 1 Radio show The Pharmacy, Dr. Dre has seemingly warmed to the idea of releasing new music of his own. The hip-hop legend previewed Compton, his first LP in nearly 15 years, during the program and this past weekend was up to his old tricks, dropping a booming new single by surprise to our collective delight. "Naked" features the vocal talents of UK R&B siren Marsha Ambrosius as well as newcomer Sly Piper.

"Naked" is purportedly a track that was left on the cutting room floor of Compton, and that's not hard to believe. Not only does it shimmer with an uber-produced shine that only Dr. Dre could muster, but the song shakes and swaggers with a city-destroying heft. Sirens blare from all directions and piano chords enter almost apologetically, barely making a statement before backing up and letting the beat have its day. With "Naked," Dre seems to have fired up his automatic beat machine, set it to "BANGER" and pushed the go button.

We're not saying it's stock or stereotypical, but when you're talking about one of the most accomplished producers in hip-hop history, a little more than what's here is to be expected. Then again, it's a cutting-room-floor track, and we're just fortunate enough to take it for a free spin. Listen to "Naked" below and pre-order the Compton on Okayplayer today!
