Los Angeles, a city full of dirty angels and heavenly dreams, is attempting to bring the 2024 Olympics to its streets. Leading the charge is an organization fueled by some of the biggest names in the sports and entertainment world. Representing this Board of Directors are Jeanie Buss (Los Angeles Lakers owner), Earvin “Magic” Johnson (NBA Hall of Famer), Steven Balmer (Los Angeles Clippers owner) and Andre “Dr. Dre” Young.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was added to the nominated list as this diverse group aim to develop an Olympic Games plan that will win them and Los Angeles bid for 2024. Los Angeles, which hosted the 1932 and 1984 Olympics, will be competing against Paris for the 2024 Olympics. Out of the 117-person list, Dr. Dre and opera singer Placido Domingo are the only musicians, though it has been stated that David Geffen and Lucian Grainge may also be involved.
With five months left to make their case for hosting the Olympic Games, the IOC (International Olympics Committee) will vote to choose the 2024 host city on Sept. 13 in Lima.
