We're just a little less than a month away from the theatrical release of DOPE, the new film written and directed by Rick Famuyiwa starring Shameik Moore, Zoë Kravitz, A$AP Rocky, Vince Staples, and more in a tale of young Inglewood high school outcasts trying to make it into college without getting arrested or popped first. A comedy with more than a little harsh reality thrown in, the film was produced by both Forest Whitaker and Pharrell Williams's i am OTHER company.
Now, a new and even more raucous trailer to DOPE has been released, one that won't make it to television sets but has thankfully arrived online. The new "red line" trailer (film industry code for "rated R") fills in many of the story's blanks: Malcolm and his friends get tapped by a drug dealer to help throw his birthday party, and when things go wrong a mound of dope gets hidden in their backpack. From there, it's our young protagonist's job to get rid of the stash by the safest, most feasible means necessary (and that doesn't include going to the police). DOPE will hit theaters on June 19th, so there's just enough time to watch the trailer below and then wash your ears out with soap--get ready for a bevy of f*ckbombs.
