Don't Come Kaytranada's Way With Cargo Shorts On

Don't Come Kaytranada's Way With Cargo Shorts On

The year has been good to Kaytranada (or should we say that Kay's been to good to the year?) Whichever way you look at it, it's hard to argue just how pervasive the Montreal-based producer's house-inflected sounds have become over the last 365, culminating in the release of his debut full-length album 99.9%, released in May via XL Recordings.

And though his music has been virtually inescapable, the man behind it all has laid pretty low with the interviews (except for his FADER profile, which is a must-read.) So when Pitchfork puts Kay in the hot-seat for their latest installment of Over/Under, it's time to put things aside and learn a few crucial life notes. Namely, the evergreen merits of Hilary Duff, Celine Dion (AKA the woman that busted down the door for Canadian crossovers) cargo shorts and the etiquette of farting in public.

The answers may or may not surprise you, but at least you'll know how to keep it cool around Kaytranada if you happen to brush elbows. Watch the interview down below and catch him on the road this fall supporting 99.9%. Pick up your copy of the record on iTunes today.
