This one is a proper family affair. Donn T had Okayplayers everywhere mesmerized with the release of her second LP, The Flight of Donn T. An album founded upon patient grooves and shimmering with Donn's deep, tender voice, we couldn't have possibly asked for more after it dropped, but here we are with a brand new remix of lead off track "Last Breath," prepared by none other than her younger brother Questlove.

While the original cut features upright bass, gently wafting piano and open spaces articulated by crisp electronic drums, Questlove's new refix has just a bit more funk in its trunk. A lockstep bass drum is met with a snare rudiment that's as Sousa march as it is Dilla stutter-step. Searchlight synths course in and out of earshot and staccato guitars appear without warning on the new remix, which was shared Wednesday via Donn T's personal SoundCloud account. Those keyboards come courtesy of frequent Roots collaborator Ray Angry. It's a smooth sibling rework from Quest, who keeps his sister's contemplative tone intact even as he pushes the moment into somewhat choppier seas. Listen to the "Last Breath" remix below and join us in crossing our fingers for even more DonnQuesTLove jawns. Purchase The Flight of Donn T on iTunes today.
