Pastor Quits Trump's Evangelical Advisory Board Over "Conflict in Values"

Here's something you may have forgotten: President Donald Trump is on vacation.

Yet, you wouldn't know it by looking at the 24/7 news coverage the President has gotten over the last couple of weeks. Because of how Trump botched the Charlottesville situation, associates and supporters have been flocking away from the President. Earlier this week, Trump ended the Manufacturing Council and Strategy & Policy Forum after a number of CEOs involved with the councils started dropping out. Then, on Friday, members of the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities announced that they were leaving the panel.

Is the Evangelical Advisory Board now in trouble? On Friday, Rev. A.R. Bernard, who leads the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, announced that he would be leaving President Trump's Evangelical Advisory Board. The reason? "A deepening conflict in values" with the administration.

What's particularly interesting about this situation is that Bernard said, in a statement, that he "quietly stepped away" from the panel months ago. But it wasn't until Tuesday where he formally resigned.

This news comes days after Bernard sign onto a letter from the Commission of Religious Leaders which condemned hate groups, especially"neo-Nazis" and "white supremacists."
