“I know I was just here, [but] tonight you are all part of a social experiment,” Dave Chappelle deadpanned to the audience who witnessed a 90 minute set with him and Chris Rock. “Stranger things have happened in New Orleans.”

Could this be the testing stages of the proposed “Best of Both Worlds”-esque comedy collaboration between these two geniuses?

On Saturday, Mar. 25, the two were spotted together during Chris Rock’s set, which totally surprised the audience. According to the Times-Picayune, Rock and Chappelle offered “a hilarious, ribald and unexpected performance” that may be used as a testing ground of sorts.

The two have been increasingly seen together on-and-off stage. There was that legendary night at New York City’s Comedy Cellar and their appearance on Saturday Night Live during Chappelle’s hosting gig.

And now, this.

Both were working on Netflix specials, as Dave released two-out-of-three of his comedy mega-events last week. Chris Rock has yet to announce the date + time of his program. With topics such as President Trump, adult film star Alexis Texas or even Chris Rock’s divorce not off limits, these two titans of funny seem poised to have more to come—and we cannot wait.
