D'Angelo & The Vanguard's "The Charade" Is Heading To Wax For Record Store Day w/ B-Side "1000 Deaths"

With Record Store Day quickly approaching, it can be a bit daunting of a task to narrow in on what to cop. And while we'll be hitting you with our curation of the release list a little later this week, some of those rarities deserve their own few hundred words to shine. Yesterday, we got word that an ultra-exclusive pressing of J Dilla's anti-5-0 anthem "Fuck The Police" would be getting the most ironic rerelease we could possibly think of. And today, we're happy to say that yet another anthemic wonder will be making its way to wax for the crate digger's holiday.

D'Angelo's understated and deceptively poignant protest anthem "The Charade" is getting ready for the vinyl treatment, being pressed to a 7-inch single sharing wax with the album's hard-nosed rocker "1000 Deaths" as the pressing's b-side. Clearly, this is one of those must-cop situations, whether Black Messiah was your introduction to the great sage of soul and funk or you're rounding out your already hefty collection of the man's singles. Again, Record Store Day lands on April 18th of the calendar year, so get that wallet right and hit your participating local vendors for the scoop. If you've yet to cop the 2xLP of Black Messiah, be sure to get your copy via the OKP Shop while supplies last.
