In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, trumpeter Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah said:

"It doesn't matter who is seated in that office. It's still my job to challenge them."

It's an interesting quote when you consider his latest single, “Coronation of X. aTunde Adjuah,” which features flutist Elena Pinderhughes. It's a powerful song and, like much of Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah's previous work, is very political.

The song is the third single from his Ruler Rebel album, which is out today. Ruler Rebel is the first release in his Centennial Trilogy, a three album series being released this year celebrating the release of the first jazz recording in 1917.
