Chance The Rapper To Host Free Get Out The Vote Concert

Chance The Rapper, Kanye West Serve Blessings At Inaugural Meadows Festival

Chance The Rapper will be hosting a free concert in Chicago to encourage Chicago youth to vote for this forthcoming presidential election.

Chance's nonprofit organization SocialWorks and Virgin Hotels Chicago are having the event take place on top of the hotel (on 203 N. Wabash Avenue) on Monday, November 7 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. CST.

There will be performances from Twin Peaks, Malcolm London (who just dropped his album OPIA), Chance's younger brother Taylor Bennett, Eryn Allen Kane, oddCouple, Stefan Ponce and more. In addition, Chance and SocialWorks will lead groups to the nearest polling station to vote.

"This election is very important, a chance for new leaders and new opportunities to emerge," Chance said in a press release for the concert. "SocialWorks and I are proud to partner with Virgin Hotels Chicago, Boost Your Voice and The TurboVote Challenge to give everyone a voice in the democratic process and encourage people to vote, both locally and nationally."

In another Chance related news, the artist is set to make his acting debut in Slice, a film directed by frequent collaborator Austin Vesely.

The Movie, which is expected to drop some time in 2017, will have Chance portraying a werewolf named Dax Lycander, a former Chinese food delivery driver who finds himself at the center of an investigation into a series of murders.

Not much else is known about the film, but there will be a scene in which Chance gets chased on a scooter.

"That scooter or that moped in the poster is kind of like a totem for Chance's werewolf character," Vesely said in an interview with Red Eye Chicago. "He speeds in and out like how the Joker comes in and out of The Dark Knight. That's the inspiration for how we handled the Dax character."

If you happen to live in Chicago you might want to fit in Chance's upcoming concert.
