One of the more anticipated LP releases of this summer for me would be Brother Ali‘s Mourning In America and Dreaming in Color (produced entirely by Jake One). Today, we get a complete breakdown (an EPK of sorts) of the album from Ali and Jake themselves. Listen as they talk about how the project came to be, the concept behind it, and more. Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color drops August 21st via Rhymesayers (pre-order here). In case you missed them, check out the dates for Ali’s upcoming tour with Homeboy Sandman.

Dudes a wanna be white kid who converted to Islam at 15 and cannot leave the religious community, so he has to double down and try to make Islam look peaceful. He has stated in ” daylight” the he believes every word of the Koran and all it’s teachings. That seems to contradict his stance on unity and gay rights on his last joint. You can either believe every word of the Koran or you can support peace and gay rights, but you cannot continue to play both sides of the fence, Ali. I’ve tried to interview the dude but he won’t address this glaring inconsistency while still calling himself “the truth”. Hey Ali, not everybody is fooled by your new age peaceful Islam. The truth is here? I think I just proved that false. Pick a side, Ali, your white guilt is killing me.
