Bobby McFerrin & Jimmy Fallon Perform An Impromptu Duet Live On The Tonight Show With Some Help From The Roots

Bobby McFerrin wowed The Tonight Show audience last night with a performance of “Drive” from his 1988 Simple Pleasures LP. He took the stage to perform the track with a little help from The Roots. McFerrin’s performance last night follows the 2013 release of his Spirityouall LP, which finds the legendary vocalist tackling negro spirituals. Bringing his incomparable dynamism to the Tonight Show stage, McFerrin leapt around the register with the same playful spirit and staggering technical skill that has endeared him to the world for decades. Assuming a horn part, McFerrin traded frequently with ?uestlove before making his way over to Jimmy Fallon‘s desk and handing him a microphone. The rest, as they say, is history. Check the footage below to watch Bobby McFerrin’s performance with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots. Purchase McFerrin’s Spirityouall LP via iTunes.
