Janelle Monáe and the residents of Wondaland were recently charged with the task of replicating the creative space that houses The Wondaland Arts Society at Sonos Studios in Los Angeles. In a very Wonka-meets-Kubrick sort of reinterpretation of the Sonos space, The Wondaland Arts Society decorated with colorful mannequins, lights, stripes, cotton candy, and the requisite green grass carpeting that comes standard in the original article. In the second of a series presented by FADER, Monae along with friends Deep Cotton and Roman Gianarthur opened to a capacity crowd as she welcomed everyone in attendance. Several acts later, Deep Cotton capped the live installation – taking great pleasure in blowing the roof off as the crew jammed out beneath a shower of confetti. Check the video below:
