Alright, before I get into this stream of Black Milk‘s new album, No Poison No Paradise, I think we need to applaud this man for one of his less heralded skills, his live performance. I’ve said before he has one of the best live sets in hip-hop (get a recap of his recent SF show), and his show at Santos in NYC the other night showed he’s only getting better. If you’re yet to see Black and his band Nat Turner live in concert, you’re doing yourself a disservice, catch them on the No Poison No Paradise tour before it wraps up at the end of the month (remaining dates below). And now for the current music, Black Milk will be dropping his latest LP, No Poison No Paradise, on October 15th via Fat Beats/ Computer Ugly. Black’s latest gem is structured as a concept album playing out the semi-biographical tale of fictional character Sonny Jr. Says Black: “I wanted each song to represent a different stage of Sonny’s life….” Guest features along for the ride include Black Thought, Quelle Chris, Robert Glasper, Dwele, Ab, and Tone Trezure. Head over to Pitchfork for a full stream of the album, and make sure you cop it when it hits stores on Tuesday.
