BJ The Chicago Kid & Schoolboy Q - "It's True" [Official Video]

BJ The Chicago Kid and Schoolboy Q rekindle their gangstafied funk in the tuff new clip for their collaborative one-off "It's True." Departing at large from his gravelly croon, The Chicago Kid takes on a bassy effected vocal treatment, providing a touching narrative of the day-in-day-out tragedy of growing up in Chicago (or Compton in the case of Groovy Q.) All of this takes place over a production that's as a wavy as your sight after hitting one of Q's forearm-sized Ls; drenched in soulful chops and an air-tight snare that cracks and snaps. The visual follows Q and BJ as they tour Southside Chicago, capping-off the affair in a full-crew shot outside of the institution that is Harold's Chicken Shack. "It's True" marks the first collaboration between Compton and Chicago's sons since they linked on Q's own standout "Studio" (which is now nominated for a Grammy) but we've got a feeling that if you've been itching for some more from the dynamic duo, this should provide the fix. So without further adieu, sit back and watch a fresh new clip for BJ The Chicago Kid and Schoolboy Q's new joint "It's True" below. Cop the single on iTunes today.
