Stream Bipolar Sunshine's Cover Of A$AP Rocky - "Long.Live.A$AP"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Bipolar Sunshine, as the name suggests, is a bit of paradox. So leave it to the British surrealist to mystify us with his smooth take on A$AP Rocky's "Long.Live.A$AP." Bipolar Sunshine's version of the heavy hip-hop song brings us an interesting forecast; defeat with a high chance of success. As he describes it, his music is "...a home for the defeated romantic, the passionately curious; but in the midst of all still can see the bright side to everything." That feeling of hope is what keeps drawing our ears back to Bipolar Sunshine's wavy pop sounds. Bipolar Sunshine stopped by the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge Late with Phil Taggart and Alice Levine to support his new single "Where Did The Love Go" and what resulted is more proof that alternative genres and hip-hop are becoming indistinguishable, often through classic covers like this one (Exhibit A: that time one of our favorite revolutionary indie rock harmony quartets the Dirty Projectors covered Usher's "Climax " live on Australian radio for the Triple J series called ‘Like A Version’.) Grump all you want to about the end of hip-hop but rule-breaking and cross-genre covers are where the vibes are right now. Don't take our word for it, stream Bipolar Sunshine's soothing but psychedelic sounds below:
