ATL Meets Ethio-funk on the Big Boi x Menahan St. Band Mosh-Up "Damaged World"

Big Boi's dedication to his father "Tremendous Damage" meets Menahan St. Band for "Damaged World" mosh up

Big Boi shoots over the latest in his weekly mosh up series. This time out we get "Damaged World." Big Boi's cut "Tremendous Damage"--a moody meditation on loss centered around the death of Big Boi's father (doubly appropriate this week, since Andre 3000 also lost his daddy last Wednesday) gets a rework. Heartfelt grown-man raps meet smoked out afrobeat on the corner of Menahan Street, courtesy of "The World" by Brooklyn's own (and Okayplayer's beloved) Menahan Street Band. The result, of course, is "Damaged World"; ATLien rap meets blue-eyed Ethiofunk uptown? You couldn't really have made this jam more tailor-made for our iTunes 'most-played' list if it was custom-cut vinyl for an 11" turntable. Run tune (and scroll down to enhance your listening experience with the built-in visualizer, thoughtfully supplied by Big Boi himself).
