BADBADNOTGOOD Brings Forth The Funk On The Silky New Cut "Boogie No. 69"
BADBADNOTGOOD AKA Canada's genre destroying trio, have had about as epic a year as one could hope for from a group of barely post-adolescent punk funkateers. They've performed in repurposed power plants, connected with some of hip-hop's most cherished luminaries (namely Ghostface Killah, DOOM & Black Milk) and had their work retouched by a pioneer of new school production (Kaytanada's spacey flip of "Kaleidoscope".) But today, in celebration of their extensive list of SXSW installations (our own star-studded showcase included) BBNG is paying it forward with a jazzy spin on a funked-out bossa-ish cut they call "Boogie No. 69," which boasts all of the earmarks of their expansive sonic pallet. Electric pianos swoon and sway, shuffles come full surface and the groove locks in air-tight for a vibe-heavy cut that'll have you screwing up your face and feet in no time.
