“Feared in all streets / So if you ever see me out in y’all streets / find another one to occupy.” Phonte does his damn thing on the latest gem to leak from The Roots‘ conceptual gamechanger undun–not to mention secret weapon Dice Raw and the rest of the crew. By now you all should be realizing that we were not just making shit up when we talked about how good this album is. Some parts beat you over the head, and some parts creep up on you like a thief in the night. This one is more of a creeper, but its shelf-life is basically infinity. Because just like Stevie Wonder is the soundtrack for your birthday? This is gonna be the soundtrack for all your missed-the-bus days. And we all know we get more bus-days than birthdays.
