Roots Picnic turner-outer Selah Sue stopped by NPR’s studios in Washington, DC over the weekend to put down live acoustic versions of a few of her choicest jams (namely: “Raggamuffin”; “Mommy” and “Explanations”). In the process she proved that she can turn this mommy out handily with nothing more than a stool, an acoustic guitar and some headphones. For serious–after the broadcast of her performance on NPR’s Weekend Edition, her self-titled album (purchase here) jumped into the Top 10 on iTunes Pop Chart. Who says radio is dead?
