Raphael Saadiq‘s recent burner “Good Man” is the kind of deeply cinematic soul that can make a grown man (or cheating woman) break down and cry. But unless you’re very, very advanced in the DJ arts, you’re probably not going to throw into your club set and risk having the dancefloor dissolve into a big, sloppy mess of broken dreams. Which is why our homey and LargeUp contributor DJ Theory barely waited until the paint was dry on this jam before he chopped it up into a more b-boy friendly form. Or as Theory put it: “Upped the BPM, kept the soul, added some breaks.” Listen or download below and judge the results for yourself.
