Miami’s 6-piece live hip-hop group Artofficial is circulating a heavy dose of musical medicine today. The album drops officially tomorrow, but you can be one of the very first to listen to Vitamins and Minerals right here, available for streaming below (and now available for purchase). This rising band, with a killer horn section and two emcees, ingeniously creates a fresh and highly rare sound by mixing a wide variety of sonic ingredients. Genre mixing is pretty much the standard now, but ArtOfficial does more than that. Each track is distilled and refined from the connections already existing between genres: soul and jazz, funk and down south marching bands, afro-beat and latin, blues and R&B. Make sure you get your share of the healing power of ArtOfficial’s genre-hopping, I’ll have it on repeat all day. Also check out their video “Rooftop” released last month.
