Perpetual underdog Joell Ortiz just tweeted out this new joint “Marijuana Man” which may be inspired by this but otherwise is sort of self-explanatory. I am a sucker for any kind of superhero rap but I am confused about why JO is adopting a faux-country accent to flesh out his MM persona–Nuyoricans don’t deal in the yerba buena? As tweeted, Life & Times of Sebastian Rios should be forthcoming soon.

It’s definitely inspired by the Ziggy Marley cartoon because he says “higher than a marley”

i think prolly so but then again Styles P ‘smoked like Bob Marley did…like the hippies did, back in the seventies’ way before, so its not like you need to see that comic to use the Marley name shorthand for ganja…

that bizness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the accent is to add character to it since he borrowed the melody of TI’s “Rubberband Man” why not use a southern accent.

Isn’t this the sample BIG PUN did for LEATHERFACE?? Yes it is lol I don’t know what this means. Ortiz can rhyme, but like the writer mentioned, why the accent??
