In the wee hours of the morn J. Cole decided to hop on twitter and bless his followers with some new heat (and crashed his website in the process, as usual). I enjoyed his debut LP, but the reviews were quite mixed, but I think most would agree that songs like this display the NC emcee at his finest. Listen to Cole get on some David Ruffin ish with this new joint, “Grew Up Fast.” Judging by the outro I’d say that MTV snub really lit a fire in dude. Look for his video with Missy, “Nobody’s Perfect,” to drop soon.

I don’t care what anyone says Cole is the truth and he will only get better. I had mixed feelings about the first album. But I felt like he was trying to balance the commercial world and the underground world but stay true to himself and that’s hard.
