This one, to me, is like the big payoff for all the buzz that’s been building about this Erykah Badu-hosted Gods’Illa mixtape for CPR which is going to drop any minute now. The haunting vocals of Maimouna Youseff (Roots fans will recognize her smoothed-out glissando from “It Don’t Feel Right” off the Game Theory LP) are what really make this Billy Davis and Marilyn McCoo cover but everybody involved kinda kills it.
