Another track that kinda speaks for itself–and another big album that drops September 27th! By my count that’s J. Cole, 9th Wonder, Phonte, J-Live and DJ Shadow‘s new jawn The Less You Know the Better, and I’m probably forgetting somebody. Either Amoeba records is gonna cake off that day or it will be remembered as the day the “Backpacker Riots” started.
As has been pointed out, this track smells like redemption for DJ Shadow, the jazzy flute and infectious movement of the drums making a perfect vehicle for Posdnuos & Talib Kweli–kind of like “Ring Ring Ha Ha Hey” with a extra-nervous shot of espresso. Less You Know seems to be pretty selective with it’s features but the ones that are there loom large: besides Pos & Kweli, there’s Yukimi of Little Dragon and Afrikan Boy and that’s about it.
