Strut records just did this cool project where they invited cats like Dabrye and Recloose to remix Detroit guitar legend Dennis Coffey‘s self-titled LP for the label. The result is Outer Galaxies: Dennis Coffey Re-worked. Proof of concept is this joint with superguest vocalist Mayer Hawthorne, remixed by Shigeto who, it says here “infects the track with a skittering bounce somewhere between garage house and Dilla-esque hiphop.” (I hate publicists that write good copy–what, are you trying put me out of work?)
