Andre 3000 Is Set To Star In Season 2 of 'American Crime'

Three Stacks is coming to network TV. According to new reports, Andre 3000 will star in season 2 of ABC's American Crime in a role that will mark his regular television debut. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Three Stacks will play an important part in the program's upcoming season.

3000's part will be that of Michael Lacroix, an architect who, along with his wife Terri (played by returning cast member Regina King), forms a serious social force in the surrounding community. " A true power couple, they have both the financial means, as well as the acumen needed to fiercely defend their son when he becomes entangled in a scandal at an elite private school," THR notes.

Director John Ridley is at the help of the Emmy-nominated American Crime, which will fully reset its story and characters in the new season. Upcoming episodes will take place in the Midwest and center on discussions of gender issues, sexual orientation and sexual identity. Astute film fans will recall that Andre Benjamin and John Ridley recently worked together on the Jimi Hendrix biopic All is by my Side. "Personally, I couldn’t be more excited than to work again with Andre," Ridley told THR. "He is an amazing individual, a true artist, and All is by my Side is one of the reasons I was given the reins on American Crime. Folks at ABC were absolutely moved by Andre’s performance in the film, and by the overall language of cinema we used in telling the story. It’s fair to say American Crime might not exist were it not for our previous collaboration."

“Working with Andre changed my life, personally and professionally on All Is by My Side,” Ridley also told Variety. “To have him joining me for season two is pretty phenomenal.”
