Anderson .Paak Incites A Dance Party With "Come Down" On Ellen

To witness Anderson .Paak live is truly a treasure, because it's not often that you see a drummer lead a band. But he does, and he does it well, balancing multiple tasks at once: time keeping drummer and charismatic frontman.

This was on full display during a live rendition of his song "Come Down," on The Ellen Show. As one of the highlights of his critically acclaimed album Malibu, "Come Down" maintains a groove throughout that, contrary to its title, never wants you to come down.

So, it's understandable that for his live performance, .Paak (accompanied by his band the Free Nationals) turned it into a dance party, having people dance onstage, and splitting duties between being front and center vocalist and drummer.

Needless to say, this performance is one to watch, and shouts out to Ellen for having some pretty memorable live guest performances as of late. Aside from .Paak, there was also Chance The Rapper's performance of "No Problems," a standout from Coloring Book that features Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz.

What made the Chance performance so great? Aside from having a live band backing him, seeing the opening lyrics of "No Problems" come to life ("If one more label try to stop me / It's gon' be some dread headed ni**as in the lobby") as Chance interrupts a label meeting and throws an assortment of papers around with some backup dancers, is nothing short of great. Plus, Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz.

In other Anderson .Paak news, the artist's collaborative group with Knxwledge (NxWorries) is prepping for the release of their project Yes Lawd! which drops on October 21. Check out a track from the forthcoming release titled "Get Bigger / Do U Luv," here.
