Coko, LeLee and Taj, you got me weak in the knees, because SWV is joining the ranks of Aaliyah, Toni Braxton and New Edition in getting their own biopic made for TV.
The celebrated ’90s R&B group has been in the public eye for a few years, most recently they participated in a WEtv reality show in 2013. Now, Cheryl Gamble, known around the world as Coko, has revealed details about their story coming to the small screen.
“We’re actually in talks [for] a SWV biopic, so stay tuned,” Coko told HipHopDX in a recent interview. “There’s so much that people don’t know.”
As music legends loved by the streets and hardcore R&B fans, SWV’s highest selling album was It’s About Time, released in 1992. Featuring the hit singles “Weak,” “Right Here” and “I’m So Into You,” SWV has a lot of material to make for an entertaining night of television.
No word on what channel will actually air the biopic, but you can already count us anxious, ready and setting our Tivos to tune in.
