Aesop Rock – Skelethon [LP Stream]

Aesop Rock; veteran Rhymesayer, the dude who (accidentally) gave A$AP Rocky his name and the craziest white rapper in the game (#1′s a tough spot in that category!) is back and his album Skelethon dropped today. The whole damn thing is now available for preview via the youtubes–cat skeletons and all. Climb into the driver’s seat of the bumper cars above and give it a whirl. Purchase on iTunes.

  fair point–but speaking as a white dude from detroit i think its also fair to point out that there is some self-segregation or at least self-comparison created by the fact that white rappers often seem pressured to out-crazy each other. Its part of this unwritten strategy to establish street cred as a rapper in spite of the fact that you can’t claim the same connection to the same badges of honor most rappers do with a straight face. its like that Chappelle bit about every crew of black youth having one white kid down them: “There’s no telling what kind of crazy s**t they’ve done to get them black dudes respect, but I’ll tell you they’ve done some wild s**t.”
