Actor Miguel Ferrer Passes Away At Age 61

Veteran actor Miguel Ferrer has passed away at the age of 61. Ferrer died of cancer in his Los Angeles home. Ferrer is the son of actor Jose Ferrer and singer Rosemary Clooney. Ferrer and Geroge Clooney are also cousins. Ferrer was born on February 7th, 1955 in Santa Monica, California. Throughout his long career Miguel Ferrer has played multiple roles. Ferrer played Bob Morton in RoboCop, Albert Rosenfield in David Lynch's Twin Peaks, Dr. Garret Macyon Crossing Jordan, and NCIS Assistant Director Owen Granger on NCIS: Los Angeles. Ferrer also did voice acting. He voiced Big Boss in Rio 2 and Shan Yu in Mulan. Ferrer was going to reprise his role in the new Twin Peaks which will be premiering on Showtime in May. Ferrer was also a drummer. He toured with Bing Crosby and his mother. He also recorded on The Who’s drummer Keith Moon's album Two Sides of the Moon. His first television role was that of a drummer in the series Sunshine. 

Ferrer's cousin George Clooney issued a statement that read, “Today history will mark giant changes in our world, and lost to most will be that on the same day Miguel Ferrer lost his battle to throat cancer. But not lost to his family. Miguel made the world brighter and funnier, and his passing is felt so deeply in our family that events of the day, (monumental  events), pale in comparison. We love you Miguel. We always will.”

Ferrer is survived by his wife Lori, sons Lukas and Rafi, and his siblings.
