OKP News: Lawsuit Filed Over Rights to Aaliyah's Music

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Sine Aaliyah unfortunately passed away almost 12 years ago, there has been quite a lot of drama relating to recordings she had begun as well as her back catalogue. TMZ reports that Reservoir Media Management has filed a lawsuit against Craze Productions. Reservoir acquired the rights to her songs in 2012. Craze has since been "illegally" selling songs from Aaliyah's self titled album and One in a Million on iTunes. Reservoir wants to prevent Craze from making money off of her songs and are seeking compensation as well as to have the songs removed from iTunes. Hopefully soon attention can go back to how talented she was, and not about lawsuits. Check out "Enough Said"  featuring (and not featuring) Drake.
