While inside sources tell us that they haven't turned the album in yet, The Roots' How I Got Over has a November 17th street date. They did, however, already shoot a video for the first single and title track "How I Got Over" with BBGUN. Here's a teaser. We'll release the full video tonight or Thursday. The Roots are busy preparing for tonight's VH1 Hip Hop Honors where Black Thought and a certain rapper from Detroit will open the show with a tribute to LL Cool J's classic "Rock The Bells." This year's HHH celebrates Def Jam's 25 year anniversary.

The visuals look great! I can’t wait to see the full finished product!
very clear and on point
love the red umbrella — BBGUN is legit!
friggin love this song and can’t wait to see the full vid!
These brothas are on it. The videographer captures the mood totally – looks to be the one of the best Roots videos like “What they do” & “Break you off”. November 17th can’t get here soon enough.
this is a hit one of those songs that grow on you meaning a classic
this album is going to be HUGE
looking forward to it!
My CD player’s mouth is watering….
Peace to the gods.
This is going to be a great video…. I’ve Seen BB Guns work before and it’s awesome…. not to mention this is probably my favorite Roots single since The Seed 2.0!!!! can’t wait for this album…. F*** the Radio… play music like this!!!! ?uestlove is a genius. Black thought is a beast singing and rapping… and all the musicians are world class….
this version sounds so much better than the one they performed on Fallon
cannot wait.
so, what happened to releasing the video on wednesday or thursday? first we’re told the album would be late, and now we have to wait longer than we’re told for the video too? come on guys. don’t state something if you can’t keep your word. a simple “the video will be out in the near future” would have been fine.
nice job with the release date
the video looks so clean in the trailer. Like how you feel after a rain. What a mood.
