Video: Slum Village Pick Beats for New EP

Wanna get an inside look at some beats that may appear on Slum Village's upcoming EP, Villa Manifesto (12/15)? Step into the studio with T3 (with the Stewie house slippers on) and Young RJ as they go through the submitted beats for the digital EP. Young RJ also tells the story of when he first tried to play one of his beats for Slum V (funny ish right there). I was feelin' that first beat they played, what y'all think?

i like how the producer speaks the truth in the end, as much as everyone loves the emcee, the one who made “that beat” should have the most appreciation in the end

  10. avatar HHmm..

They obviously didn’t wanna play the few good joints they received .. i mean whoa! wack beats all the way ..

  11. avatar souledout

Too right chodafode, that IS Animal Planet by GZA. Produced by…? I dunno, maybe even RZA, but definitely not whatever punk ass sent that to T3. Surprised neither of them recognised it. Anyway how come this hasn’t been promoted on okayplayer? There’s tons of people here with good beats that would fit onto an SV album.

LMAO! damn noone of them beats was hot except for the 1st 1 and even so that dont sound nothin like sv’s sound. if anything. but the rest was trash, definitely not a SV sound. peace to T3 and RJ for being real in this video, washed up maad! LOL cause T3 dissed his wack ass beat he probably sent. LOL anyway. and its a shame cats talkin and sending SV beats made and dope for other artist. my opinion. and i know tre gonna do it right… but for this album man i just want the original cats man. Black, RJ, Waajeed, if dilla was alive, Karriem Riggs. i wouldnt be mad if the (ol’ sampled based kayne) did something on this joint or even 9th!! WHAA!! that would be the ish righ there! LOL @ RJ on dont send a beat u made for ja rule.

    shit man,

this is the first time ive responded on a negative tip,

    but shitttttttttttt!!

could you have picked anything worse for that video, I hate to be modest but for one of the best hip hop groups of all time, playing that shit is just disappointing, i will give u beats for free as long as you dont go “tainted” wiv that shit!
I can guarantee….. better than that, 20000 xxxxx better than that (however, not that hard to do in this case)
